Pressure Cooker Corn on the Cob
Corn on the cob is a classic side dish, and one of my family's personal favorites, so I'm making it all of the time! The Instant Pot makes it easier than ever to have fresh, sweet, and buttery corn on the table in no time at all- it is totally irresistible!
If you’ve never made corn on the cob in the Instant Pot, then you might find it hard to believe how quickly you can have tender corn for your family to enjoy!

Instant Pot Corn FAQs
Corn on the cob is very easy to make in the Instant Pot: simply use an Instant pot steaming bucket or provided insert to keep the corn from touching the bottom of the pot, add water, seal, and pressure cook.
To make corn on the cob in the Instant Pot, it is suggested to cook the corn on high-pressure for 2 minutes, with an additional 5-10 minutes of pressurized cooking time, and 5 minutes of release time. In total, it takes about 15 minutes to cook corn on the cob in an Instant Pot.
You can use frozen corn to make corn on the cob to make Instant Pot corn. The only difference in the preparation would be to cook the corn on high pressure for 4 minutes instead of 2 minutes, as suggested in the recipe instructions.

How to Cook Corn on the Cob in the Instant Pot
- Place steaming insert into the Instant Pot and add the corn on the cob on top of it.
- Add water and the lid. Cook on manual high pressure set to 2 minutes. It will take ~5-10 minutes for the pot to come to pressure.
- Naturally release the pressure for 5 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure. Remove the corn carefully from the instant pot using tongs, serve with desired dips or sauces, and enjoy!
Instant Pot Corn Recipe Tips
- Corn on the cob can be large. If you want to use full ears of corn, use a larger Instant Pot such as a 6 quart.
- If you have a smaller Instant Pot, slice the corn into smaller pieces before cooking. The cooking process remains the same.
- Use a steamer basket or the insert attached to the Instant Pot - you want to make sure the corn does not touch the bottom of the pot.
